Well the start of the rainy season with its afternoon showers seems to have arrived, and before we look the year will just dissappear into thin air and the 2012 season will kick in, but not yet, still got plenty work left for 2011 (although time just doesn’t slow down) one thing that is awsome about these rainy days is the time spent indoors working on all the clients weddings and shoots, No excuses of needing to get out for a bit.
Well this Trash the dress / couple shoot was a year and a hlaf in the making. Braam and Nicci contacted us to cover a shoot which involved shots that you dont really do on your wedding day: sitting dow, lying down and getting wet, all without stressing over the dress. so off to Sabie we went. It was pretty overcast but the storm really came through quicker then we had anticipated, and as a result we just decided to shoot in the rain, with great result. This was our first Trash the dress shoot that we have ever done! so when Wilien and Liam asked us if we coud do it we were really really excited. wedding days are all good for couple photographs but its always squeezed into a short space of time and you have absolutely no control over weather or time schedules, nobody wants to keep the guests waiting because of the photographers, he he, we cant understand it, he he, just kidding. so being given a whole afternoon, we knew we could crack up an amazing shoot.
The shoot was meant to happen the very next day after their wedding but the weather just didnt allow it to happen, so 2 days later we contacted them as the day was super perfect, and what a day it turned out to be. knowing how easy Wilien and Liam were to work with we knew the day was perfect to experiment with lighting and angles as well as ideas. so off we went to a friends farm/lodge, aka. caracal lodge in elands kloof and got cracking with this fantastic shoot.
Best of all, after the shoot we got to sit and braai with the couple and Wilien’s parents at their place in schoemanskloof, and after the lovely evening it all sealed the day and experience we had with this lovely couple and family, thank you so much for making us feel so welcome!
