So the day came That i would photograph my sister in laws wedding without Karen, well not completely, karen did spend the morning photographing a bit of the bride while i was out running around between decor, Barend and mother-in-law requests (ha ha, love you mom)! i must say, i really worked this day, even the wedding car died on us, it was a old volksi bus where 2 fronts were welded together, so the front and rear were the same, so in a rush panic i tried to get it started but that just wasnt happening. I must say, there is one thing about being the photographer at a wedding, and another being the photographer and a family member.
the date was so well planned, probably the only sunny day around that time. the ceremony was held on the farm that we stay, one could get bored of seeing the same place on a daily basis, but the farm is so unique and absultely stunning between the paper bark acacia and dam with the hippos only meters away.(for safety we had parksboard around with zi guns), the decor just added to the atmosphere.
Barend and Tanija really worked so well on their couple shoot(ok, i know that i could make them do pretty much anything since they family, ha ha) but seriously, man did they pose! ha ha ha ha.
the reception was held at Kavinga on the road between nelspruit and Sabie, its a really beautiful reception hall! The evening went really well, especially the grooms speech, now if there is something i can tell you about Barend, he is always at the front row of any groom speech ragging the poor groom. know ing that most of those guys were at the wedding we planned a big surprise for the stirrers, a gift wrapped fire extinguisher to silence the crowd!!
Enjoyed shooting the wedding, not knowing this would be practice for when our little mascot arrives

I was called up By Manie Connoway from flycatcher castle in Graskop to photographs a few portraits of him as well as his sculpture for his new website, basically Manie’s final product of his artwork are cast brass sculptures. He puts amazing attention to detail to all of his artwork, i perticularly loved the detail in the feathers of alot of his sculptures. Along with the standard portraits we got a few shots of him at work. what i do love is that Manie was very open to interesting lighting and angles! so this was pretty much an open brief shoot.

Mariné and Michael’s wedding took place at likweti lodge and sanctuary, on what turned out to be an incredibly beautiful day. On arrival we first met up with Mariné along with her brides maids in her room, afterwhich we met up with Michael up at the lodge along with family. This is the first time that we had met the couple. Michael used to live in Nelspruit, but is currently staying in Dubai. With super fun brides maids as well as grooms men, the couple couldn’t have chosen a better bridal party to keep the nerves away.
the cermony saw some really strong harsh light down by fish eagle dam, but thanks to Joanne from likweti who had structured the seating and gazebo in such a way that everyone would be backlit, this really helped alot. Now there is one this about Michael and Mariné, they havn’t seen one another for what i think might be 3 months or so, could even be 6 months, but needless to say, a very long time before their wedding as he was in Dubai and Mariné in pretoria. so seeing his excitment on his face when she came in to view all dressed up was awsome.
As for the couple shoot, well all we can say, and you can see this by the selection we posted (as we went a bit overboard with the amount) We are very excited about how it turned out. We had the most stunning light this year so far, together with a couple that couldnt keep their hands off one another
(in a very good way, he he) Those months seem to have made you absolutely natural in front of the lens, perhaps you were to excited about being together again that you couldnt have bothered about us, he he( in a very good way once again).
The reception had a complete party mood going, crazy shots everywhere. and loved the father Daughter dance, im sure you will laugh about it for many years to come.
Well lastly we would just like to wish you a super amazing future together, be it in Dubai or anywhere else. You guys Rock!
