Johan & Suzanne’s wedding at Nou’s Toeka Nelspruit

Its always good to stand on the side of a wedding seeing Family come together helping out here and there. Strong bonds that brothers share, as well as emotion on a dads face when he walks his daughter down the isle. It all adds up on a wedding day.

Suzanne and Johan’s wedding took place at Nou’s Toeka, a venue we have strangely only ever photographed at once before, although we had recieved numerous requests in the past. The venue has a stunning little semi open chapel that usually has a soft breeze blowing through the venue. the reception hall is large and open, so plenty dancing for plenty guests! Both Johan and Suzanne got ready at the venue itself, seperated but 2 rooms, so caution was to be used for them not to cross paths. The groom parked off until 99 with his best men, friends and family all piled up into one room, with alot of funny moments. The bride and her group chilled out of the room (even more reason for the groom not to step past his boundaries, :-) ) most of the day. just love it when makeup gets done in the open, as a photographer it just feels like its alot easier to be out of everyones way and focus on shooting.

The ceremony went by real smooth, with a few tears it progressed into alot of  laughs, Domine crack a few good joke! And i must say, Suzanne, we could capture endless laughs out of you! :-)

For the couple shoot we went out to a nearby location to capture some good shots, as you can see in the shots, the sky was completely overcast, so we managed to capture alot of close ups of  laughs and smiles(and a few kisses in between). But the highlight of the shoot surely has to be the Giraffe strolling over the hill to check what we were up to, the whole story kinda went like this: Sven: Suzanne, there is a giraffe behind you. Suz: (Smile), Sven: no seriously, there is a giraffe behind you. Suz: ( smile). Sven: Im dead serious, there is a giraffe behind you. Suz: (SMILE). Sven: just look behind you!. Suz: Oh my goodness!!! Damn i laughed, she just didnt want to believe me, and best of all it was about 30 meters away standing incredibly tall in the open. Not even Johan turned to have a look.

Johan and Suzanne, thanks so much for behind just straight out awsome!

Luis and Marike Wedding Potchefstroom KUMKANI COUNTRY LODGE

WE’RE BACK!!!! and hopefully this time we dont let anyone down with our lack of blog posts. sorry guys, things have been pretty hectic. have a good list of 13 weddings that we need to blog, so here’s one to start.

you could call this a blog post, but the way Luis and Marike spoke to us about how they wanted to use us for there wedding something like 2 or 3 years before their actual wedding( before they even got engaged) makes this more a Tribute to our No1 fans :-)

The wedding was held in Potchefstroom at Kumkani country lodge. The days weather was really good, not a hint of any Hickups there. I must say, with some music pumping in the reception room while shooting decor, it kinda puts you in a shooting mood. and that was just the morning. Both the Girls and Guys where large groups whilst getting ready, everywhere you point a lens you could catch someones emotion or reaction. With Marike on her Ipad going over our blog with her friends, it was very clear to us that she loved Moody skies with interesting clouds. so just after the ceremony it was an all out race for us to get to the shooting location, setup and… what do you know, beautiful skies with interesting clouds :-)

Luis and Marike worked soooooooo sooooooo well on the shoot, showing them a few shots on the camera while shooting seemed to just make them pose that little extra. another interesting moment, while on the train tracks, i got the bridal party to act as if a train was coming from behind, just as a shot, and soon afterward one came from behind them, we prepared everyone for this, so in a flash, we grabbed the lights and got off there ASAP. i must say, the amount of times he blew the horn was a little unneccesary, but im sure the closer ones where to say congrats. but we got some amazing shots from standing next to the railway as the train passed. love it when something happens that you dont plan for nd it turns out for the better.

Well Luis and Marike, you and your crowd where really good fun, sorry its taken so long to get this blog post out for you, but it is an amazing blog post if i do say so myself. hope you like it!!!! Thanks for being so amazing to work with. (your fan, Stan, ha ha)
